A man has been brought before the court following allegations that he murdered an ice cream vendor in north-west London.

Emergency services responded to reports of a confrontation on Monks Park Road, Wembley, on Tuesday evening. Shazad Khan, aged 41, sustained stab injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Thursday, Zaher Zaarour, 26, residing on North Circular Road in Brent, was charged with murder and the unlawful possession of a knife.

Mr. Zaarour appeared at Willesden Magistrates’ Court, where he was remanded in custody until his next hearing at the Old Bailey scheduled for 27 August.

He is expected to return to the same court on 19 September to enter his plea.

Community members noted that Mr. Khan was a familiar figure in the neighborhood, known for operating an ice cream van. One resident mentioned that he was married and had a young daughter.

Earlier, Detective Chief Inspector Paul Waller of the Metropolitan Police expressed gratitude to the community for their cooperation during the investigation.

He added that residents should anticipate an increased police presence in the area over the coming days as inquiries continue.
