A 26-year-old man has been taken into custody on suspicion of murder following the fatal stabbing of another man in north-west London.

The Metropolitan Police responded to Monks Park, Wembley, around 18:10 BST on Tuesday, after receiving reports of a stabbing incident. A 38-year-old victim was given medical assistance for his stab wounds but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

At the site of the incident, officers detained a 31-year-old woman on charges of conspiracy to commit murder, and later apprehended a man in the early hours of Wednesday.

Both suspects are currently in custody, according to police statements.

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Waller expressed condolences, stating, “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the victim during this incredibly challenging time.”

He noted the rapid developments throughout the night, mentioning that two individuals have been arrested and remain in police custody. Nonetheless, detectives are actively working to piece together the details surrounding this tragic event.

Waller urged anyone with relevant information to reach out to the police, emphasizing that there will be an increased police presence in the area as the investigation proceeds.
