A murder probe has been initiated following an assault on a woman in east London during the early morning hours on Saturday.
According to the Metropolitan Police, officers received a call regarding the incident in Chadwell Heath shortly after 5:30 AM BST.
Paramedics also arrived on the scene; however, the woman was declared dead on Chadwell Heath Lane, as stated by the police.
The authorities have not yet officially recognized the victim, but they suspect she was in her twenties.
Her relatives have been notified and are receiving support from family liaison officers, according to the police.
So far, no arrests have been made in relation to this case.
Detective Superintendent Brian Hobbs remarked, “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the victim during this deeply tragic time.”
He noted that residents will notice a heightened police presence in and around the area as investigations continue.
He also encouraged anyone with relevant information to reach out to the authorities.
