Canadian tennis player **Vasek Pospisil** has announced his retirement following the home Masters tournament in Toronto, Canada.
“After 18 years in professional tennis, I can’t wait for the opportunity to play one last time in front of you in Toronto,” Pospisil shared on his social media platform, accompanied by a video highlighting moments from his career.
Having turned 35 in June, Pospisil is a champion of one Grand Slam title in men’s doubles (Wimbledon 2014), a former world No. 4 in doubles, winner of seven ATP doubles titles, and a member of the Canadian team that won the Davis Cup in 2022.
In singles, his highest ranking was 25th, with his best Grand Slam performance being a quarterfinal finish at Wimbledon in 2015. Additionally, Pospisil is a co-founder of the Professional Tennis Players Association (PTPA).
