“34-year-old defender Aleksandr Zhirov has signed with FC Chelyabinsk. Sasha is a product of Barnaul’s Dynamo. In the previous season, he played for Akhmat, making 30 appearances and scoring three goals. In earlier seasons, he was part of various clubs including Baltika, Sandhausen (2. Bundesliga), Yenisey, Tom, Krasnodar, Anzhi, and Volgar.

In the upcoming season, FC Chelyabinsk will compete in the First League. The team will face Orenburg in their opening match on July 19.
