A man has been fatally stabbed on a street in west London.
Emergency services, including police, paramedics, and London’s Air Ambulance, were dispatched to Seville Street in Knightsbridge at 21:24 BST on Wednesday following reports of a stabbing incident.
Paramedics provided medical assistance to the 24-year-old victim whose injuries were the result of a knife attack, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his wounds at the scene, as confirmed by the Metropolitan Police.
The police also mentioned that no suspects have been apprehended and they are working to uncover the details surrounding the incident.
Superintendent Owen Renowden, who oversees policing in the Kensington and Chelsea areas, stated, “We have received information suggesting that this incident may have been a robbery.
“While this is one avenue we are exploring, we remain open to all potential motives, and the precise circumstances are yet to be clarified.
“We recognize the effects this event will have on the local community, and we will deploy additional officers to the area to address any questions or concerns.”
The individual’s family has been notified and is receiving support from specialized officers.
The location of the incident is widely recognized for its high-end shopping, luxurious residences worth millions, and notable sites such as Harrods and Hyde Park.
A representative from the Park Tower Hotel near Seville Street affirmed that those involved in the incident were not guests or staff of the hotel.
Authorities have cordoned off the sidewalk surrounding the hotel as well as Nusr-Et, a restaurant overseen by the Turkish chef Nusret Gokce, known as “Salt Bae.”
