Man Faces Murder Charges as Investigation Links Fatal Stabbing and Gas Explosion in North London

A man has been accused of murdering a woman who was discovered fatally wounded after a gas explosion at her residence in north London.

Clifton George, 44, of Dumont Road, faces additional charges of arson with the intent to endanger life following the incident that left Annabel Rook, 46, seriously injured on Dumont Road in Stoke Newington shortly before 05:00 BST on Tuesday.

Mr. George, who sustained slash wounds himself, is scheduled to appear in Thames Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

Acting Det Ch Supt Brittany Clarke stated, “We urge the public to avoid speculating and to respect the privacy of those involved during this period, and we appreciate the continued support from the Hackney community.”
