A 66-year-old woman has been taken into custody on suspicion of murder following the discovery of a 69-year-old woman who had been fatally stabbed in her residence in north London.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene in Mornington Place, Camden, after receiving a call regarding an unresponsive individual at approximately 6:00 PM BST on Friday, June 13.
The deceased, identified by authorities as Jennifer Abbott, was found by her niece and neighbors, with one neighbor noting that she had tape covering her mouth.
On Wednesday, the Metropolitan Police announced that a stolen Rolex watch may be connected to Ms. Abbott’s death.
Detectives from the Met stated that they are exploring various potential motives for the stabbing and are seeking information regarding the missing timepiece, which they believe was taken from Ms. Abbott’s home.
The watch features a notably diamond-encrusted face.
The suspect is currently in police custody after being apprehended on Wednesday, according to the police force.
