From Royal Engagements to NFL Throws: King Charles Shines at Tottenham Hotspur Visit

King Charles paid a visit to Tottenham Hotspur’s home ground to showcase the Premier League club’s efforts in aiding local enterprises.

During his visit, the King interacted with various attendees, including 48-year-old Gina Moffatt, a former offender who transformed her life with support from the King’s Trust—formerly known as the Prince’s Trust—and now owns a restaurant in north London’s Tottenham.

Ms. Moffatt humorously told the King that he was “bigger than Beyoncé,” referencing the American star’s forthcoming concerts at the venue.

Additionally, King Charles tried his hand at throwing an American football, an attempt that garnered mixed reviews.

The football club is partnering with the National Football League (NFL) of the United States, which hosts games at the arena, to aid local enterprises and charitable initiatives.

During his tour, the King also met students from the London Academy of Excellence Tottenham, a high-achieving sixth form institution located on the stadium grounds.

On the pitch, he received a football from Efe Obada, the longest-serving British player in the NFL, who complimented the King’s “enthusiasm” in throwing but noted that his “technique could use some refinement.” Obada remarked, “I wished he could have aimed a bit closer to the target, but he seemed to have a fantastic time and was warmly received.”
