Tragic Discovery: Missing Ilford Womans Body Located in New Forest, Suspect Charged with Murder

Police have discovered the remains of a 46-year-old woman who had been reported missing for a week.

Yajaira Castro Mendez, a resident of Ilford in east London, was last seen on May 31.

Her body was located in the Bolderwood region of the New Forest in Hampshire on Saturday, according to police reports.

Juan Toledo, a 51-year-old from south-east London, was brought before Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on Friday, facing charges of her murder, and has been remanded in custody.

Detective Inspector Jay Gregory remarked, “This is a profoundly tragic turn in the investigation, and our condolences are with Yajaira’s family and friends during this heart-wrenching time.”

He encouraged anyone who may have information regarding Ms. Castro Mendez’s death to reach out to the authorities.
