Chelsea is planning to initiate discussions with the representatives of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen regarding a potential transfer this week, according to Football Transfers.

The report indicates that the main hurdle preventing the Nigerian player’s transfer to the London club is his salary demands. Osimhen is seeking an annual wage of €12 million in a contract with Chelsea, but the Blues consider this amount to be excessive.

Currently, the English club is exploring possible ways to structure the deal. It is unlikely that Osimhen will lower his salary expectations without including performance-related bonuses in the contract.

Last summer, the forward moved to Galatasaray on loan, where he participated in 38 matches across all competitions, scoring 33 goals and providing eight assists. Osimhen’s current contract with Napoli runs until the summer of 2026. According to Transfermarkt, his market value stands at €70 million.
