According to the Metropolitan Police, 86 demonstrators have been detained for reportedly entering the grounds of Wormwood Scrubs prison in west London.

The police stated that the individuals were “demonstrating in solidarity with a Palestine Action prisoner on a hunger strike” and allegedly made threats against law enforcement while obstructing prison personnel from entering or exiting the facility.

The campaign group Prisoners for Palestine identified the detainee as 22-year-old Muhammad Umer Khalid, claiming that he initiated a thirst strike on Friday. He is currently awaiting trial for an alleged break-in at RAF Brize Norton last June, which he denies.

All participants are facing arrest on suspicion of aggravated trespass for refusing to vacate the premises.
