Tragic Blaze Claims Lives of Elderly Couple in North London Home

A couple, both 90 years old, tragically lost their lives in a house fire in North London.

The London Fire Brigade (LFB) received the call regarding the incident at a semi-detached property on Albemarle Road in Barnet just before 2:00 AM GMT.

The fire originated on the ground floor, though the cause remains unconfirmed.

The Metropolitan Police reported that the relatives of the deceased have been notified and are receiving assistance from specialized officers.

A spokesperson for the force commented: “The origin of the fire is still being determined, and an investigation into the surrounding circumstances is in progress.

“Officers were on the scene to support the LFB with traffic management as firefighters worked diligently to bring the blaze under control.”

Approximately 25 firefighters responded to the emergency and managed to subdue the flames shortly after 3:00 AM.
