Kanishchev Names Sobolev as Biggest Disappointment in Zenit This Season

Former Saint Petersburg Zenit football player **Alexander Kanishchev** identified forward **Alexander Sobolev** as the team’s biggest disappointment of the year and shared his reasoning behind this choice.

“I don’t want to offend Sobolev, but I would say he is the one. He isn’t the worst player, but he has shown the least in terms of performance. He has disappointed the most,” Kanishchev remarked in an interview with Championship correspondent Nikolay Baranov.

Alexander Sobolev joined Zenit from Moscow’s Spartak in August 2024. So far this season, the Russian striker has played 23 matches for the blue-white-sky blues across all competitions, during which he has scored five goals and provided two assists.
