Dmitry Kozlovsky Reflects on a Quiet Birthday Celebration Filled with Meaningful Gifts

Three-time Russian champion and European champion in figure skating, **[Dmitry Kozlovsky](https://www.example.com)**, who competes in pairs with **Alexandra Boikova**, shared how he celebrated his recent birthday.

On December 23, Kozlovsky turned 26.

**”Dima, right after the Russian Championship, you had a birthday. Everyone is congratulating you, and we’ve seen your social media posts where you were in the company of [sea] urchins and Sasha [Boikova], celebrating at a restaurant. Please tell us about any interesting gifts you received, maybe some unusual surprises or congratulations.”**

**Dmitry:** It was just a regular birthday. Sasha gave me a truly wonderful gift; I won’t specify what it is, but it’s something I’ve really needed and wanted for a long time, though I hadn’t gotten around to buying it for myself. In the end, Sasha surprised me with this gift. Another close friend of mine, who unfortunately lives in another country, in the United States, also sent me a gift, but it will arrive a bit later due to some logistical issues.

Overall, my birthday was quite calm. In the evening, Sasha and I went out to a restaurant to celebrate. From the morning until the evening, I spent a lot of time on my phone, talking to people who called me and replying to messages since I wanted to acknowledge everyone who reached out.

I really appreciated the attention people showed me and wanted to reciprocate that kindness, which is why I spent the entire day at home. Plus, you know, we had just returned from a competition, and this was the first day I could actually rest, sleep peacefully, and enjoy a day in a completely relaxed manner, as I was utterly exhausted. We couldn’t really rest right after the Russian Championship because we returned to Moscow right after the gala performance. I needed to recharge, so I had to take some time to unwind.

I was very pleased that the first half of my birthday was peaceful at home.

**Alexandra:** This must be the first birthday you’re celebrating at home after the Russian Championship.

**Dmitry:** No, last year as well, Sasha, we came back on my birthday from the Russian Championship, but…

**Alexandra:** And there’s a bit of an aftertaste from that.

**Dmitry:** Considering what happened last year *(referring to the silver medals they won at the Russian Championship)*, there wasn’t really a festive mood. This time, however, there was a genuine feeling of inner satisfaction due to the enormous amount of work we had put in and the fantastic result we achieved, – the skaters noted in an interview with Okko.
