Velichkin: Its Premature to Call Razin the Greatest Coach in Metallurgs History

The former vice-president of Metallurg, **Gennady Velichkin**, commented on the news regarding the extension of the contract between the Magnitogorsk club and the team’s head coach, **Andrey Razin**.

“You can’t say that Razin is the best coach in the history of Metallurg. The club has a rich history, and there have been numerous coaches, including Valery Belousov and Paul Maurice.

As for whether extending the contract was the right decision, that will ultimately depend on the results. So far, the results are present and quite satisfactory. Yes, last year the team did not achieve anything significant, but that’s normal. It happens; we have many teams, and it’s not possible for one team to win all the time. This isn’t the CSKA of the Soviet era,” Velichkin stated, as reported by Legalbet.
