Travelers heading to London Stansted Airport by train are experiencing considerable disruptions due to scheduled maintenance work.
Maintenance on the Stansted Express service, which connects the airport to London Liverpool Street, will span five consecutive weekends starting this Saturday.
Expected to conclude on March 23, the engineering work is anticipated to cause delays on the rail lines between Stansted and Broxbourne in Hertfordshire.
As a result, passengers will need to utilize nearly 200 daily replacement bus services for portions of their journeys, according to National Express.
Greater Anglia has announced that there will be no direct train services from Stansted to London on the weekends, as well as on March 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, 16, 22, and 23.
A replacement bus will operate between Broxbourne, where the Stansted Express will end its service, and the airport.
John Boughton, director of National Express, acknowledged the considerable disruption and inconvenience this rail maintenance would cause for travelers.
To assist passengers in reaching their destinations punctually, the coach company is reportedly adding an additional 25,000 seats on routes between London and Stansted Airport.
The following services to the airport will be available:
