A woman aged 66 has been charged with manslaughter concerning the death of a young girl in south London back in 1978.

Janice Nix stands accused of the murder of five-year-old Andrea Bernard, whose assault took place in Thornton Heath on June 6, 1978, according to the Metropolitan Police.

Andrea, who authorities state had a connection with Ms. Nix, succumbed to her injuries at a specialized burns unit on July 13 that same year. The Met indicated that a report was filed in September 2022, prompting the initiation of an investigation.
