Passengers journeying between Brighton and Gatwick Airport should anticipate delays and cancellations due to “a series of incidents.”
On Tuesday morning, services operated by Southern, Thameslink, and Gatwick Express experienced interruptions, with potential delays reaching up to 30 minutes and possible last-minute route alterations, as reported by Southern Railway.
The disruptions were attributed to a speed limit imposed on account of a damaged track between Brighton and Preston Park, along with a signalling issue affecting the area between Three Bridges and Gatwick Airport. These problems are expected to persist until 11:00 GMT.
Travelers can use their tickets on Southern, Thameslink, Gatwick Express, as well as the Underground, on “any viable route” connecting Brighton and London.
Those heading from Brighton to London Victoria have been encouraged to take a Thameslink train to London Blackfriars, followed by the London Underground.
