‘Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens’
A novel by J. M. Barrie, revealed in 1906, that includes the character he originated, Peter Pan. It tells the story of how Peter left his household as an toddler, grew to become a good friend of fairies!

Barrie started fascinated by a Peter Pan statue in 1906. He took a sequence of images of the six-year-old Michael Llewelyn Davies carrying a particular Peter Pan costume. This was Barrie’s very best imaginative and prescient of Peter Pan that he deliberate to provide to a potential sculptor. Six years later, in 1912, Barrie paid Sir George Frampton to create the statue. Within the story, the boy flies out of his nursery and lands beside the Lengthy Water lake – on the spot the place the statue truly stands.

The Peter Pan bronze sculpture in Kensington Gardens is among the hottest statues throughout London. The sculpture shortly achieved iconic standing and shortly all photos of Peter Pan seemed just like the Kensington Gardens model. Copies had been constructed from Frampton’s mould and there are actually Peter Pan statues in Egmont Park in Brussels (1924); Bowring Park in St. John’s (Newfoundland, Canada, 1925); Queen’s Gardens in Perth (Australia, 1927); Liverpool (1928; initially in Sefton Park); Glenn Gould Park in Toronto (Canada, 1929); and in Rutgers College in Camden (New Jersey, USA).
