Focus and Discipline: Hartley Reflects on Lokomotivs Overtime Loss to Neftekhimik

The head coach of Lokomotiv, **Bob Hartley**, commented on the loss to Neftekhimik (4:5 in overtime), in which the Yaroslavl team was leading 3:1.

“I want to congratulate Neftekhimik on their victory. I don’t want to take anything away from them; they earned it. We are not focused enough at the moment, making too many mistakes and taking unnecessary penalties. The opponent played well on the power play. We are not showing the level of performance we should.

Ultimately, penalties determined the outcome of the game. They were poor penalties. Our penalty kill had been solid in previous matches, but today we made numerous mistakes. Neftekhimik has several fast players, and they scored some good goals on the power play. We paid for our penalties. You can’t cheat hockey. If you don’t play the way you should, you will be punished,” Hartley stated, as reported by the KHL press service.
