The London Millennium Footbridge

The London Millennium Footbridge is a pedestrian-only metal suspension bridge crossing the River Thames in London, England, linking Bankside with the Metropolis. It’s positioned between Southwark Bridge (downstream) and Blackfriars Bridge (upstream). The bridge is owned and maintained by the Bridge Home Estates, a charitable belief overseen by the Metropolis of London Company. Building of the bridge started in 1998, with the opening in June 2000.
Londoners nicknamed the bridge the Wobbly Bridge after crowds of pedestrians felt an surprising swaying movement on the primary two days after the bridge opened. The bridge was closed, and modifications eradicated the wobble totally. It was reopened in 2002.
The southern finish of the bridge is close to Globe Theatre, the Bankside Gallery and Tate Fashionable, the north finish subsequent to the Metropolis of London Faculty beneath St Paul’s Cathedral.
